Radiana: Radiant Heating and Cooling Solutions

As our living and working conditions become ever hotter, air-conditioning is increasingly in demand. However, traditional forced-air technology heats up the external environment even more. As an alternative, Air Craft recommends the Radiana system that uses water as the basis of transferring heat. It works so much more efficiently than a traditional air conditioning system works and is kinder to the environment.

For any project, the Radiana system has many advantages over traditional systems for installers and homeowners. It is a wholly sustainable style conscious solution to cooling and heating with invisible, silent operation and low running costs as key benefits. Users set the desired environment and the system maintains the temperature, manages humidity levels and improves air quality automatically.

Radiana is an innovative three-component climate control system that is unmatched by other cooling products because it integrates humidity regulation, dew point control and variable radiant energy output via composite plasterboard panels. This maximises cooling capacity, thermal comfort and energy conservation.

Radiana is installed above the ceiling and is entirely hidden. Ceiling cooling takes place via piped panels or tiles. Radiant cooling cools a ceiling by passing cold water through the pipes which absorb the heat radiated from the rest of the room. Heat always travels to colder areas. There are no hot or cold spots in an environment cooled from the ceiling because radiation expands equally in all directions.

Radiana’s construction consists of a prefabricated sandwich panel assembly with 50mm thick EPS board and a gypsum panel glued together. In between the two, over the EPS board, aluminium heat transfer plates are laid down with specially shaped channels for water pipes. The panel can be cut to size: in half, lengthwise and width wise, and into sub-panels to better cover smaller areas. Thus, all your building requirements are fulfilled. One panel with endless possibilities and Air Craft will provide the perfect Radiana solution for your new build or renovation project.
