The refurbished and extended Leo Bancroft Hair Salon in Weybridge provides a truly superior and exclusive service within a unique salon environment. Key to achieving this is the air conditioning and heating system, designed and installed by Air Craft. The company’s a solution that not only matched Leo Bancroft’s aesthetic interior design requirements, but also on a practical level offered the performance to combat the heat gain generated by new skylights, hairdryers and the warmth generated by the bustle of everday life within the busy salon.
As Air Craft partners many of the world’s leading manufacturers of HVAC technology, the company was in the position of being able to specify design led and conventional systems that matched precisely the salon’s requirements. In the new extension, with its high vaulted ceiling and skylights, it was essential to maintain the feeling of space that had been created and also to complement the contemporary grey and chrome interior design elements, track and pendant lighting schemes as well as its striking green living wall that provides an aura of calm.

The small duct high velocity air cooling, heating and air purifying system was chosen for this area. To keep space to a maximum the ceiling bulkhead had been designed to be as shallow as possible and the system’s flexible ducting was well suited for this installation. Furthermore, it is a very discreet system visually and lends itself to modern, minimalist interiors where its unobtrusive look is a key factor.

In the extension, the system distributes cooled air or heated air as required via flexible ducting and out through white slimline linear slots or inconspicuous round outlets positioned high on the walls and ceiling. It delivers cooled air evenly around the space so that the stylists and their clients feel the full.

The refurbished salon area necessitated a more conventional approach to air conditioning. Air Craft retrofitted the latest high efficiency, environmentally friendly, sleek and stylish Daikin Emura wall units along with roundflow ceiling cassettes. Designed to cool, heat and also purify the air by removing microscopic dust and other particles from the salon air, the Emura units help to maintain a healthy salon environment too.
